However, I think I want to start out by getting some wind chimes that are more traditional. Then I can add some more unique items. Do you have any suggestions on how I can make or find some good wind chimes to start out my collection? I had that happen on a few of my links and I just kind of mashed the wire down until it was the length that the rest of the chains were. To secure the wire in this shorter position, use some pliers and twist the wire around itself a few times. It should stay in place if youre careful- the bottlecaps themselves are not heavy enough to weigh the wire back down.

With your next wires that you cut, make sure to adjust them and make them shorter! Hope this helps.trina lynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18416237809214319123noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-798901868265502713.post-61967267162996425562013-11-07T03:35:42.314-08:002013-11-07T03:35:42.314-08:00Thank you for the tutorial. Firstly, YES this wind chime will begin to show signs of rust and decay if you leave it out in the elements. You can slow this process down by keeping it dry, out of the rain, and out of direct sunlight. After doing a little bit of searching, I think that the best way to "weather proof" the caps would be to add some sort of clear coat over them- clear finger nail polish would probably achieve what you want without making the caps so thick you can no longer poke holes in them. Curious to see what you ultimately decide to do. Good luck! :)

PS Thanks Champaing for the kind word!trina lynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18416237809214319123noreply@blogger.com
